Phosphate (PO4)
Raised phosphate levels in an aquarium can lead to increased algae growth. A raised concentration of phosphate in a marine aquarium inhibits the ability of stony corals and of other calcium-secreting organisms to synthesize calcium carbonate. The phosphate concentration should not exceed 0.4 mg/l in a fresh water aquarium and 0.02 mg/l in a marine aquarium.
To control high phosphate levels we recomend AQUAVITAL PHOSPHAT-ADSORBER.
